Profile
My Name is Ron Lythall and have been a Radio amateur for 18years. I hold the Call G7KMF and G0TLA.
I am married but sadly my wife who was also licensed ,M3FFK passed away on the 11th January 2007.
My Radio background started when I was at school with an interest in Ham radio and when I left school I joined the ROYAL SIGNALS where I got a good grounding in radio communications as well as other skills. When I left the Army I joined the Ambulance Service where I became a Paramedic but after 20yrs had to retire for health reasons, I worked for a short while for myself in the computer industry and now Am a single parent working part time for O2 after my wife and myself had to raise our grandson from birth.
My main interests in Amateur Radio are PSK RTTY and CW. My favourite band is 6m when it is open and also spend a lot of time on 80m 20m and 30m.I enjoy contesting and always take part in the VHF National field day , the HF Field day and the IOTA
I used to belong to the Mexborough and district amateur radio Society where I was the treasurer and committee a member and also Instructed on various courses being a registered instructor with the RSGB of which I am also A MEMBER and have been since licensed.
I was Involved involved in organising a sponsored walk in memory of my late wife ,M3FFK of which the proceeds went to cancer research. The walk coincided with the 40th anniversary of the Cleveland way which is the walk we undertook ,so a special event station was set up in liaison with the North Yorkshire national park. The station promoted the Cleveland way and the sponsored walk.
Recently I have had the good fortune to have met and now am in a relationship with very loving person called wendy, who does not have an interest in radio but does support me with the hobby.
Wendy has two children and together with Brandon we are forging a new family
